James's passion for retail began when working at his father's manufacturing business which specialised in luxury suede, leather, men's and women's wear. Learning the importance of quality, great design, interesting details and personal service, it was this "grass roots" experience and love of fashion that encouraged James to start his own women's wear collection.
In 2000, he launched his first capsule knitwear label. This collection took shape in luxurious cashmere and wool blends in rich tonal shades.
