Martin Blum and Dan Black created the Black and Blum company back in 1998 when they joined forces and moved to London to open up a design consultancy.
Martin was born and raised in Switzerland. His love for design started when he undertook an apprenticeship as a commercial clerk with a design company. He then went to study Industrial Design at the University of Northumbria in Newcastle.
Dan also studied at the University of Northumbria, where he met his fellow companion, Martin. He received a first class honours degree and gained further professional foresight working at IDEO.
Their company have won many awards, with the most recent one being 'The Best New Product at Home Show, Earls Court 2012 (eau good water bottle)
